Henry and Vivian started today and I was a small-ish mess all day. All I could think about was their first day at St. James two years ago. I remember the looks on their faces as they walked to the car that day and I knew things hadn't been great. Today, I think I held my breath all day and watched the clock. I was not looking forward to seeing those looks again but today they both came out smiling!
Henry was actually for real smiling! He seemed relaxed and at ease. Like Matt told me last night as he was trying to talk me off the ledge..."you know who's the only person not worried about Henry? Henry." When I pulled up to pick him up he was chatting with another kid and he said he didn't eat lunch by himself. THANK YOU GOD! The thought of him sitting alone at lunch just about did me in. And then there was Viv. Happy, go-lucky Viv. She talked non-stop on the way home. The best part of her day...she got a locker! Having a locker and not having to wear a uniform?! Viv is living the dream!
